檳城海客園善才堂,舉辦衛塞之夕慶典 2015

BUDDHIST temBUDDHIST temples in Penang have been busy preparing for the Wesak Day celebration on 2015. Committee members and volunteers at the Sian Chye Tong Temple in Air Itam have been putting the finishing touches to their 9.1m long and 5.4m high float. The temple’s youth section chairman Loh Choon Teik said volunteers worked on weeknights and weekends since a month ago to build the float and decorate the temple. “Our volunteers are passionate. Even though they work during the day they were willing to spend their nights to build the float. “I pray that it won’t rain this weekend, so that the devotees can enjoy the beautiful float and procession,” he said. As the volunteers switched on the generator, the colourful float with a statue of Buddha and a small water fountain suddenly burst into life. The various LED and light bulbs flashed brightly, creating a kaleidoscope of colours. Loh said the float would be launched during the temple’s Wesak Day Eve celebration tomorrow.ples in Penang have been busy preparing for the Wesak Day celebration on  2015.
